AI short film scene: two cats recreating Titanic wearing a custom pet cat memorial pendant

AI Ad Experiments for My Shopify Store | 3 Whimsical Short Films — Breaking Free From Traditional Product Ads

Turning daydreams into ads — custom keepsakes wrapped in fantasy stories

Running a custom-product independent store, I’ve seen countless generic ads: models showing off products to the camera, straightforward descriptions of materials, and repetitive discount pitches. They all lack memorable storytelling.

This time, I used AI to bring my wild imaginative ideas to life. Instead of aggressively pushing sales features, I wove our products into fantasy short stories. Below are the three experimental videos. Click the links to watch them.

✨ A Ring That Leaps Out From The Billboard | Custom Name Ring

AI billboard ad experiment: a woman throws an engraved custom name ring from a screen

The first video features our Custom Name Ring. The story carries a romantic vibe: A man walks past a huge roadside billboard. He speaks to the woman on the display and asks for her name. Rather than answering verbally, she takes off her ring and tosses it straight out of the screen into reality. As the ring spins mid-air, the engraved name “Jennifer” on the band comes clearly into view. It showcases our name-customization feature through surreal visuals.

Most traditional jewelry ads focus on how pieces look when worn. This short film breaks the boundary between the screen and real life. The ring is more than static jewelry; it becomes a token that carries a name and heartfelt feelings. Instead of plainly telling customers “we offer custom engraving”, this striking image sticks in viewers’ minds, leaving them wondering: Can I engrave my own name?

🎂 A Doberman’s Magical Fall | Doberman Pop-up Paper Greeting Card

Surreal AI ad scene: a Doberman falling onto a birthday cake turning into a 3D pop-up greeting card

Our second short stars the Doberman Pop-up Paper Greeting Card. A Doberman spots a well on the street. It leans over and sees a tempting cake at the bottom. Excited, the dog reaches down with its paws, only to slip and fall. The scene cuts instantly: the Doberman drops from the ceiling inside a room and lands right on top of the cake. In the next moment, it transforms into the pop-up paper card sitting on the cake.

This is a playful plot twist. Pop-up cards are gifts designed to surprise people, so rather than simply demonstrating folding craftsmanship, we built a whimsical dream sequence. Falling from a real street into a magical indoor space, the live dog turning into a paper card visualizes the surprise you feel the second you open the greeting card. Made for dog lovers to celebrate their pets, this card is far more than paper — it holds a little story.

🐱 Titanic Reimagined by Cats | Pet Cat Memorial Pendant

Cats recreating the Titanic portrait scene wearing a custom pet cat memorial pendant

The third video is for our Pet Cat Memorial Pendant, a lighthearted tribute to the iconic Titanic scene. We cast the white cat as Rose and the black cat as Jack, recreating the famous portrait scene on the sofa. The two cats snuggle together, wearing the pendant around their necks, paired with the movie’s well-known lines.

The classic film moment already lives in people’s memories, and pairing it with adorable kitties creates a fun contrast. Many pet parents want to preserve memories with their furry companions. This short frames our pendant just like the Heart of the Ocean — a keepsake for everlasting memories. Light, cute and free from heavy sadness, it delivers the core spirit of pet memorial jewellery.

Why these whimsical AI ads instead of standard sales clips?

Independent stores follow different traffic logic compared with marketplace platforms. Marketplace ads need to quickly highlight features and prices. For independent sites, brand recall matters more. When an ad itself is entertaining, viewers will watch till the end and share it, instead of scrolling away immediately.

AI greatly lowers the barrier to filming surreal shots like dimension-crossing scenes, transformations, and animals re-enacting movie classics. In the past, this kind of footage would require a huge production budget. Now I can turn daydreams into videos and embed products naturally into stories, instead of awkwardly slapping on product close-ups.

That said, creative ads are not a magic formula. They are not optimized for instant conversions. Their strength lies in attracting like-minded audiences — people who love romantic stories, adore pets, and are willing to pay for sentiment and unique designs. Visitors touched by these stories after watching the videos will browse our store, to order their custom rings, pet greeting cards or memorial pendants.

This round has been such an exciting experiment. I brought the fantasies inside my head to life as ad clips. Products no longer feel like cold objects; they become characters within little stories.
