Remembering Super Z: My Brief, Precious Time With a Stray Kitten From the Construction Office

We first met Super Z in the site office on October 27, 2020. Hungry and meowing, he came searching for food. We quickly offered him cat food, and in that moment, he stepped into our daily work life.

Every day when I arrived at the construction site, he would rush over to greet me and follow me all the way into the office. During overtime work and meetings, he was our little supervisor, sitting quietly beside us to keep watch. When sleepy, he would curl up on desks, chairs or the floor for naps, and often claim my chair for rest.

Sadly, on March 25, 2021, the photo captured on my phone became his last portrait. Though we only shared a few short months together, the warmth from this little cat will stay with me for all my life. Thank you, Super Z.
